Innovative Bio Products
Collagen is the most common protein in human and animal tissue and forms one of the essential structural elements of the extracellular matrix. Therefore collagen is an ideal substrate for in-vitro cell culture. Our products are produced from pure bovine collagen type I, with non-cross-linked, native collagen fibers.
Our scaffolds are qualified for cultivation of a large number of adherent cell types, e.g. embryonic and adult stem cells, chondrocytes, osteoblasts, cardiomyocytes, neuronal cells, neuroglia cells, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, hepatocytes and muscle cells.
The high biocompatibility makes our collagen products ideal for transplantation experiments in basic research in regenerative medicine.

» Collagen Cell Carrier
CCC scaffolds are sterile, compact non-porous membranes of pure, non-cross-linked bovine collagen type I for cell cultivation. For use in cell culture multiwell plates, specially formatted discs are available. The 50 x 50 mm format can be cut by the customer according to his requirements with sterilized scissors or a scalpel.
The CCC is delivered dry, sterile and individually packed. Before cell seeding it needs to be attached reversibly to the bottom of a cell culture-treated well plate without the need of any auxiliary compound. To ensure proper adhesion of the CCC to the well the recommended attachment protocol should be used.
The CCC is a robust, sterile Collagen Cell Carrier for the growth and differentiation of various cell types, representing an in-vivo like collagen for use in conventional cell culture-treated well plates. It is standardized due to industrial production methods and also allows the combination with additional matrix molecules and / or growth factors. It is best suited for cultivation of adherent primary cells, stem cells and cell lines. Also allowing directed differentiation, it represents an excellent scaffold for complex tissues and tissue engineering. Additionally, the high mechanical strength of the collagen membrane permits the easy and sterile translocation of the intact cell-scaffold complex e.g. for transplantation experiments or histological analyses.

» Collagen Inserts
Collagen Inserts contain a self-supporting non-porous membrane of pure, non-cross-linked bovine collagen type I for cell cultivation. The collagen membrane can be easily separated from the insert structure by removing the clamping ring.
The Collagen Insert contains a robust, sterile collagen membrane for the growth and differentiation of various cell types, representing an in-vivo like collagen for use in conventional 6-well plates. It is highly standardized due to industrial production methods and also allows the combination with additional matrix molecules and growth factors. It is best suited for cultivation of adherent primary cells, stem cells and cell lines. Also allowing directed differentiation it represents an excellent scaffold for complex tissues and tissue engineering. Additionally, the high mechanical strength of the collagen membrane permits the easy and sterile translocation of the intact cell-scaffold complex e.g. for transplantation experiments or histological analyses.

» Growth Medium
The Growth Medium consists of 500ml Basal Medium and 50ml proliferation supporting Supplement.

» Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells
Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSC) are isolated from human bone marrow. MSCs can be expanded and, after induction, are able to differentiate into a number of different cell types, such as adipocytes, neuronal cells, chrondrocytes or osteocytes.
MSCs are typically offered cryopreserved with 500.000 viable cells/vial at passage 2‑3. The cells can be passaged up to passage 8. MSCs are contamination free (bacteria, yeast, fungi and mycoplasma), quality checked and the donors are negative for the virus species HIV, HBV and HCV.
For further subcultivation of MSCs we recommend to use the enclosed Collagen Cell Carrier (CCC), a compact non-porous membrane of pure, non‑cross-linked bovine collagen type I, designed for the cell cultivation. The CCC exhibits high mechanical stability, minimal autofluorescence and is sterilized by gamma radiation. Thus it is an excellent cell carrier for research applications and basic research in regenerative medicine.
MSCs are characterized by high proliferation rates and high differentiation potential. They can be used in a great number of applications, such as research into mechanism or treatment of bone related conditions (e.g. osteoporosis) or toxicity testing of drugs in the preclinical phase. Since MSCs can be differentiated into adipocytes, these cells can be used for studying obesity. A large number of substances have been tested on MSC, such as immunosuppressive agents, chemotherapeutic and radio-protective compounds.
