Biomaterial for Regenerative Medicine

The focus of Viscofan BioEngineering, a producer of biomaterials for cell culture and regenerative medicine, is on collagen scaffolds called Collagen Cell Carrier. The raw material of the cell carrier is bovine collagen. The Collagen Cell Carriers are scaffolds for cell culture multiwell plates. The scaffold can be used in vitro (cell cultivation) of different cell types. The cell – scaffold complex can be used in regenerative medicine for in vivo research in animals (up to now not in human beings). With the Collagen Cell Carrier, Viscofan BioEngineering started as a supplier in the field of regenerative medicine. The collagen scaffold was tested together with several cooperation partners: in cell cultures for regenerative medicine, in vitro in the cell culture lab and in vivo in animals.

Thanks to our industrial production standards, Viscofan BioEngineering delivers reliable scaffolds for in vitro cell culture as well as for regenerative medicine and on the basis of its reliability the scaffold is of special interest for cell culture and regenerative medicine.

Since it is difficult to find a practicable scaffold for regenerative medicine, we created a scaffold (Collagen Cell Carrier) with high biodegradability. Compared to other biomaterials, the Collagen Cell Carrier is an extremely robust scaffold for cell culture and regenerative medicine.

Since not every biomaterial is a good cell culture scaffold, it is really difficult to find an optimal biomaterial for cell culture or regenerative medicine. To become a supplier of biomaterials in regenerative medicine one have to take into consideration the biodegradability of the scaffold and the scaffold should induce almost no immunoreactions as seen in in vivo testings in animals.
